Research Positions (Summer 2016)
Hunter-MSKCC Summer Internship Program in Microbial Genomics
- Title: Bioinformatics Research Assistant
- Number of positions: Two
- Supervisors: Dr Weigang Qiu (Hunter) & Dr Joao Xavier (MSKCC)
- Location: Belfer Research Building, 413, East 69 Street, New York, NY 10021

- Project Title: Identification of genomic determinants of phenotypic evolution in Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- Project Description: We have previously sequenced the entire genomes of 20 hospital isolates of P. aeruginosa and measured their phenotypes including antibiotic resistance, biofilm formation, and swarming motility. An algorithm has been developed to identify genetic variations associated with these phenotypes. The objective of the summer project is to design computational methods to validate the effectiveness of the genotype-phenotype mapping algorithm.
